The Baltic Dry Index surged by over 10% on Monday, marking its best single-day performance in 18 months, mainly driven by the strong performance of Capesize vessels. The Baltic Dry Index surged by 228 points or 13.5% to 1919 points, its highest level since July 16. The Capesize Index surged by 711 points or 28% to 3248 points. Capesize vessels' daily earnings surged by $5898 to $26935. The Panamax Index dropped by 247 points to 1305 points, reaching its lowest level in over a year. Panamax vessels' daily earnings dropped by $95 to $11748. The Supramax Index fell by 17 points to 1289 points.
