Several coastal areas in Liaoning Province have experienced abnormal increases in water levels. The Ministry of Natural Resources has initiated a level four emergency response for ocean disasters.

On the evening of October 20th to the afternoon of October 21st, there was an abnormal increase in water level along the coast of Liaoning and other places. The Ministry of Natural Resources immediately dispatched a working group to conduct on-site investigation of the disaster in Liaoning and other places, and launched a level four emergency response to marine disasters in the afternoon of the 21st. The relevant experts of the Ministry of Natural Resources analyzed that the abnormal increase in water level was mainly related to the shock reflux of the storm surge in a large area of the outer sea and the superposition of astronomical tides.
