Jin10 reported on June 2: U.S. President Trump stated on May 30 that the U.S. will increase the tariffs on imported steel and aluminum from the current 25% to 50% starting in early June. In response to this decision by the U.S., the President of the German Steel Federation, Rieper, issued a written statement on June 1, stating that this move by the U.S. has escalated the transatlantic trade conflict once again and will put immense pressure on the European steel industry.
