TON Wallet Integrated Into Telegram Rolls out Across the US

Telegram has launched its self-custodial TON Wallet for users across the United States, integrating cryptocurrency management directly into its messaging app.

Self-Custodial TON Wallet Debuts for U.S. Telegram Audience

U.S.-based Telegram users can now send, store, and manage digital assets like tether ( USDT) and toncoin (TON) within the app without needing additional downloads. The TON Wallet provides full user control of private keys and funds.

According to the announcement shared with Bitcoin.com News, key features include sending crypto directly within Telegram chats, accessing built-in trading tools and market charts, staking for yield, and making zero-fee USDT purchases via Apple Pay, Google Pay, and credit cards through Moonpay.

For the first time, users can also withdraw funds directly to bank cards using Moonpay’s off-ramp. Andrew Rogozov, CEO of The Open Platform (TOP) backing the wallet, stated: “We’ve embedded crypto natively into Telegram … sending digital assets feels as simple as sending a message.” TOP is a key developer of Web3 tools for Telegram.

Max Crown, CEO of the supporting TON Foundation, called the U.S. launch “a major step toward making decentralized finance (DeFi) part of everyday life,” removing barriers through an intuitive interface within a trusted app.

The team said globally, over 100 million users activated TON Wallet in 2024. With Telegram boasting more than 87 million users in the U.S., significant growth in wallet adoption is anticipated.

The service is accessible via t.me/wallet or the “Wallet” option in Telegram Settings. TON Wallet serves as the primary gateway to the TON Blockchain ecosystem, including games, payments, DeFi, and marketplaces like Fragment.
