Oasys Technology Roadmap Released: Three Major Strategies for Empowering Blockchain Games

The Japanese gaming public blockchain Oasys has released a new technical roadmap on the occasion of its second anniversary, aimed at addressing the technical challenges and user pain points currently faced in the blockchain gaming sector. The roadmap focuses on three core areas: application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability.

As an important participant in the blockchain gaming sector, Oasys has established partnerships with several well-known game companies, and its ecosystem currently includes 10 verse layers and nearly 60 games. Oasys's architecture combines a highly scalable Layer 1 (Hub Layer) and Layer 2 (Verse Layer) design to provide high network stability, high scalability, and high data availability.

Technical Challenges Faced by Blockchain Games and Oasys's Solutions

Continuity of game assets

In traditional Web2 games, the game assets that players work hard to obtain may disappear when the game is shut down. To address this issue, Oasys has proposed an innovative solution: mirroring game assets on Layer1 from Layer2, ensuring that even if Layer2 data is discarded, user assets remain permanently protected.

Interoperability of Layer 2

The Verse Layer design of Oasys allows game development teams to introduce independent tokens and achieve functional customization. To enhance interoperability between various "microcosms," Oasys plans to introduce a cross-chain bridge, adopt a universal data format, and standardize APIs, enabling users to freely transfer data and assets between different games.

ecosystem scalability

Oasys works closely with partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources to support ecosystem building and lower the technical barrier. The Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK) allows businesses to quickly access preset ecosystem components, accelerating project launches and focusing on content development.

Short-term and Mid-term Technical Roadmap Planning

Short-term goals (within 1 year)

  1. Standardized Game Asset Specifications
  2. Create use cases for standardized asset specifications in real-time games.
  3. Provide Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK)

Medium-term goals (2-3 years)

  1. Solve protocol layer issues to achieve the mirroring of Layer 2 assets to Layer 1.
  2. Develop standardized protocols to ensure interoperability between different Layer 2s.
  3. Provide developer tools that align with the vision of Oasys

Ecosystem Expansion Achievements

Oasys has recently made significant progress in the development of practical use cases and ecosystem expansion.

  • Launched L2 chain XPLA Verse, introducing popular games from Com2uS Group.
  • The blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on "Captain Tsubasa" is online.
  • Collaborate with Japan's SBI Group to expand the Japanese crypto gaming and NFT market
  • Collaborating with Kakao's Metabora SG to support its entry into the Japanese market

Through these initiatives, Oasys has demonstrated its technical innovation capabilities and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, laying a solid foundation for establishing global standards for blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of its technology roadmap, Oasys is expected to create more value for players and developers, while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
