Good news for Cardano (ADA) from the old days of Crypto.
One of the most well-known and oldest projects in the crypto world, Cardano, has received approval for a large spending package from the community. The package proposed by Input Output Global, Cardano's main development team, which will spend 96 million ADA tokens for network improvements, received a 74% approval from the community. The spending package passed with 200 votes in favor, 6 against, and 7 abstentions.
What will the development plan bring?
The developments that founder Charles Hoskinson has been mentioning for a long time aim to bring a faster network to Cardano, allowing for more transactions in less time. Additionally, a simpler system will be created for developers. There will be better connectivity with other blockchains, and the interoperability issue will also be resolved.
"A new era is beginning"
Information sharing on the subject was made from Input Output Global’s (IOG) X address, stating that "The Cardano community has made history. For the first time, core development funding has been directly accepted. A new era in decentralized governance is beginning."
IOG will provide monthly updates and information on developments that are highly debated within the community and have even faced objections.
This offer includes two critical projects. Hydra, which is for fast and low-cost transactions, and Acropolis, a modular architecture created to allow new developers to adapt more easily...
As a reminder, in July, Solana announced a development that increased block capacity. In May, Ethereum had also completed the Pectra update that increased data blobs per block.
The ADA token reached a record of 3 dollars in 2021 but had entered a severe bear season with subsequent market downturns. Currently, Cardano, which is the 11th largest crypto asset, is trading at 0.73 dollars.
