Ronald Dinho will have another chance to explain his potential role in the fraud on August 30.
One of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, better known as Ronaldinho, is reportedly O) launched an investigation alleging he may have been involved in a cryptocurrency scam.
The athlete was called to testify on the matter, but did not appear in court and did not provide an explanation for his absence.
** Expected to appear in court next week **
According to recent reports, the former star of FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Brazil's national football team is suspected of being involved in a fraudulent operation by a dubious company called "18kRonaldinho". The program offers a generous but fake profit of 2% per day to those who invest at least $30 in digital currency. Ronaldinho emerged as an ambassador for the early entity that sold watches and jewelry.
The 2005 Golden Globe winner did not appear in court to further clarify his potential role at the company. Interestingly, even if he showed up, he had the opportunity to remain silent before the magistrate.

Rio de Janeiro federal lawmaker Aureo Lidio Moreira Ribeiro said authorities had summoned Ronaldinho to appear in a designated court on August 30. He warned that law enforcement could "use the force" if absent again.
Lawyers for the athlete insisted their client was in fact the victim of a scam, claiming that criminals were illegally using his image and name to deceive more people.
The fallen investors who uncovered the case are demanding 300 million reais (nearly $61 million) to recover the moral and material damage they suffered from the potential scam.
Ronal Dinho has joined the crypto bandwagon
While the aforementioned case is still pending, it’s worth mentioning that Brazilians joined the cryptocurrency ecosystem (legally) more than a year ago.
In February last year, he partnered with Graph Blockchain subsidiary New World Inc. to become an ambassador for the organization, introducing the NFT experience to numerous fans. Ronaldinho, known for always smiling while playing football and respecting his opponents on the pitch, has a wide following and almost 75 million followers on Instagram.
A few months later, the athlete signed another deal to launch his own token, RON, in partnership with decentralized exchange P00LS.
