Why do 16–18 hours become the "golden hour" for large capital flow on Tron

A new study from analyst João Wedson of CryptoQuant shows that the Tron network is processing over 400 million USD in USDT transactions every day within a two-hour window, from 9–11 AM UTC ( to 6 PM Vietnam time ) — creating the most concentrated "million-dollar peak hour" in the cryptocurrency world.

This explosive trading activity, primarily driven by whales and financial institutions capitalizing on the convergence of global markets, is reinforcing Tron’s leading position in the practical applications of stablecoins. At the same time, it reflects how the pace of traditional finance continues to dominate the largest capital flows in the crypto market.

Global liquidity engines operate synchronously

According to Wedson, this is not a random phenomenon. This time frame is the "sweet spot" where major financial centers around the world intersect: noon in London, the moment the market opens (pre-market) on Wall Street, and the end of day settlement in Asia.

During this period, liquidity peaks, arbitrage opportunities arise, and funds begin to rebalance positions across multiple markets, creating a wave of synchronized global capital flow. After 19:00 UTC ( 2 AM VN the next day ), the volume of million-dollar trades usually drops sharply when the US market closes, Europe ends its working day, while Asia is still in the early morning hours.

Tron's central position in this trend is not coincidental. Over the past three years, this network has quietly reshaped the stablecoin economy, currently holding nearly 4 billion USD more USDT than Ethereum — reversing the order that once saw Ethereum lead in the issuance of Tether.

Tron is becoming the "default network" for stablecoins

The research also shows that Tron is quickly becoming the preferred network for large-scale stablecoin transfers, thanks to low transaction fees and near-instant confirmation times.

Tron also holds a significant market share in emerging markets such as Nigeria, Turkey, and Argentina, where TRC-20 USDT operates as an "alternative mobile banking system." The fact that many major exchanges default to using TRC-20 for USDT deposits/withdrawals further strengthens Tron’s structural advantage over Ethereum.

Why is this important?

The "9-11 AM UTC effect" reflects the broader dynamics of the stablecoin market. According to data from DefiLlama, stablecoin assets have added an additional 2.47 billion USD in market capitalization just in the past week, with USDT accounting for 61.74% of the market share.

Tron currently has a stablecoin market capitalization of 82.8 billion USD — equivalent to nearly one-third of the entire industry, with 98.47% of that being USDT. This indicates that a large majority of high-value stablecoin transactions in the world are currently being conducted through Justin Sun's network, especially during the crucial morning hours.

For traders and analysts, there are two key takeaways. First, monitoring whale activity on Tron from 9 to 11 AM UTC can provide early signals about the direction of institutions, especially during volatile market periods. Second, it shows that although the crypto market is borderless, major players are still operating to the beat of global finance.

"Whales swim day and night, but the big moves still happen while Wall Street and London are awake," Wedson concluded. "Want to track the big money flow on Tron? Set an alarm for 4 PM!"
