Satoshi Labs: Investors holding a small amount of Bitcoin and Crypto Assets should not overlook personal security measures.
Golden Finance reports that Alena Vranova, founder of Satoshi Labs, warns that wrench attacks, personal attacks, and kidnapping incidents targeting Bitcoin are on the rise, attempting to steal the Private Key of Crypto Assets holders. "Every week, at least one Bitcoin user in the world is kidnapped, tortured, extorted, and sometimes even faces worse circumstances," Vranova told the audience at the Baltic Badger 2025 conference in Riga, Latvia. At the same time, "the problems that seem to occur only with original Bitcoin (OG) are not really the case. We have seen people kidnapped for Crypto Assets worth $6,000, and we have seen people murdered for Crypto Assets worth $50,000." Vranova stated: "Currently, we have over 80 million Bitcoin and crypto asset user identities leaked online; among them, 2.2 million contain home addresses."
