Step 1: Log into your Gate account. Click “Trade”-”Margin”.
Step 2: Select the trading pair in the Market section on the left (Take GT/USDT for example).
Step 3: Click “Transfer” to transfer funds.
The steps are as follows: ① Choose a transfer direction between the spot account and the isolated margin account; ② Select the Trading pair; ③ Choose the coin; ④ Enter transfer-in/out amount.
Step 4: Check “Borrow” when placing an order, the system will auto-borrow the funds you need.
When you place a buy order, the system will auto-borrow USDT (quote currency); when you place a sell order, the system will auto-borrow GT (base currency). You can check the borrowing amount after you setup the an order.
Step 5: You can also click on “Manual” under the assets section to borrow GT/USDT manually. The borrowing details will be displayed under the assets section.
Step 6: You can either click on “Buy” to go long or click on “Sell” to go short. You can set the buy/sell price, amount or total based on your own needs. Or you can click the buy/sell orders on the order book and get a quick price, and click on buy/sell.
Step 7: Confirm the amount, price, borrow amount, and the daily borrowing rate, and click on “Confirm”.
If you check the “Do not remind me later” box, there will not be a pop-up window for order confirmation for following isolated margin trading orders. If you want to enable the order confirmation again, please go to the Setup/Spot.
Step 8: After you successfully place an order, you can check the open orders under the “Open Orders” section. By clicking on “Cancel”, you can cancel the order.
Notes:
When the price goes up, you can profit from going long.
When the price goes down, you can profit from going short.
With leverage, your profits/losses will be amplified when the price trend goes in the same/opposite direction as you predict.
